I freeze things and stack them frozen in the cooler. We eat for a week from
the top of the cooler down to the bottom as things thaw. Some things I like
to make:
- Couscous paella. I make up the soupy stuff, freeze it. At cook time,
reheat liquid, toss in couscous. Finish with a pat of butter. Done and done!
- Form and freezer burgers.
- Google dump chicken for marinated and grilled chicken.
- taragon turkey burgers.
Obviously you want cook top and grilled items. Most people don't bring
oven's with! Other thoughts include:
- Sloppy joes to reheat.
- any stew you like.
Good luck!

Subject: [frozen-assets] Need camping ideas
We're heading camping for 3 days this weekend. We only do this once a year
and I'd like to try some new things. Does anyone have some good ideas that
will keep in a cooler for a couple days? I'm thinking I'll be freezing the
items for day 2 and 3 to keep them fresh.
Last time we did things like kabobs (lots of pre-work but good) w/baked
taters, omletes in a bag, pre-made breakfast breads, dogs and brats.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Sharon
