I do the same thing, just never with hot dog buns. Would you just package these in ziplock bags after flash freezing?

I use hotdog buns sometimes instead. I prefer the long shape. I usually
make a paste of soft butter, Italian seasonings and fresh grated Parmesan.
I might even add some very finely minced fresh herbs. I would spread the
buns with the paste and either flash freeze or bake immediately. I save a
lot of time when I use a crusty loaf and slice it horizontally. I then
spread both lengths with the butter instead of slicing through the whole loaf
and then having to slice each piece. When finished baking, you slice them
into pieces which is very easy. You still get lots of good flavor. Although
I haven't tried it, I think some butter mixed with Hispanic seasonings
would be tasty to serve with a Mexican dinner. Pam
