Last year our library obtained a device which will allow you to check the energy
use of each of your appliances. It can be checked out just like a book. It was
obtained with grant money and the newspaper article about it said that numerous
libraries throughout the country received these devices. Check and see if your
library was one of them. If your library doesn't have it, check with your power
company.

I'm running a small chest freezer and two fridge freezers and I suspect they are
huge drains on my wallet, electricity wise. The kitchen side by side is about 7
years old, the chest freezer is about 10 years old, maybe a bit older, and the
second fridge with top freezer is older than that.
I think upgrading to a more modern, large capacity fridge freezer for the
kitchen and doing away with the second would save me some money in the long run,
but would it be enough to justify the purchase? It would certainly be easier to
have one instead of two.
