OK, I did the cooking days and now have taken a few things out and tried them. My experiment was to find out what would work (besides the old standards of soups and lasagna) from the freezer to the crock pot. Here are the partial results:
1. wild rice chicken (Wilson and lagerborg recipe): this worked great! I put the topping on about half way through. Cooked on low from about noon from the frozen state, as its basically a heat up.
2. beef with snow peas. This recipe was an internet one and was not ideal for the freezer to crock method. The thickener I used, which was cornstarch, became kinda gloppy and it would not stir out.
3. frozen raw meatloaf-worked great, just don't over cook.
so far that is it, more later as we dig into some other recipes.
