One reason I like using the pressure cooker, and I have 2, is because it
doesn't generate heat in my kitchen. You could always do like I did when my
child was young and put it on the back burner.

There are a couple of reasons I don't use a pressure cooker -

 1. I do not own one. Can't use it if I don't have it! :)

 2. Honestly, I don't even want one. The benefit of a pressure cooker, to me,
is to make things nice and tender (like a slow cooker) but in much less
time. Personally, I don't want the heat it generates in my kitchen in the
summer, and though I wouldn't mind it in the winter, I also don't mind
waiting for the slow cooker either. I don't have room to store both
appliances, and the slow cooker to me is much more versatile than a pressure
cooker with less heat output, and less potential to burn inadvertently (I
have small kids who can reach the top of the stove...I like having the slow
cooker out of the way of their hands and keeping the burners off unless I'm
 right there to watch them).
