We are a family of 5 ( 2 adults, a 20 yr daughter, and boys that are 14 and 16). If I'm making a traditional meal ( meatloaf, boston baked beans, corn bread) I would make a side dish like devilled eggs ( can always dice them all and have egg salad sandwiches) ~ I would also make something new like linguine and clams to fill in AND have a trial run before making it a headline meal. If it goes over then we have a new main dish. I don't worry if it's asian, mexican etc. I just pick one of my meals that might not be filling enough.
Last Sunday I made 6# of chicken breasts, 5# russet pots into mashed with homemade gravy, 2 cans green beans, and a lemon cake for dessert. It was all me and hubby could do to step out of the way and have a plate for us. One scrawny breast and 2 cups of spuds were left.
Having Pepper steak with rice tonite ~ hope to have some rice left for pudding another day.
