Hi, Berit and everyone:
I bought a bunch of chix breast a couple mos. ago and went crazy preparing them with several of the DUMP CHICKEN recipe marinades.
I did NOT like a few of them at all. The one with lemon, thyme, garlic, etc, was good.
I found that putting the chix in the crockpot with the marinade just made it too juicy, basically watering down the marinade. I didn't find that the marinade really penetrated the chix as much as I'd hoped it would.
Which brings me to my next point, which goes to something you asked about RE: discarding the marinade...
Well, because of it being too juicy and watered down in my crockpot, I chose to bake the chicken, drained of the marinade, BUT I didn't discard the marinade.
Instead, I put the marinade in a saucepan on the stove, brought it to a low boil, and then just simmered it.
I then used it to baste the chix.
It turned out better for my liking this way.
Sorry for rambling.
I'd like to hear about everyone's experience with DUMP CHICKEN.
Thanks,
DD :)
