I think the trade-off of having to be more vigilant (See that frozen foods are used in a timely manner) for the convenience of never having to defrost are well worth it. I saved up my rebates on one of my credit cards until I could get Sears best frost-free upright. I love it, and Sears refrigerators and freezers are always top rated. Try to find out who makes Sears freezers and that would be a good model—although maybe higher priced than sears is able to sell them.

Subject: [frozen-assets] buying a freezer
Hello all,
I need to buy a new freezer. My previous one was a Kenmore frost-free workhorse, and the food stayed fresh for a very long time.
I am now looking at new models (I do not live in the US anymore), and everything I see is frost-free.
I always thought that frost-free was bad for OAMC, but I was wondering if the technology has advanced such that it would be worthwhile to purchase a frost-free freezer. I sure hate defrosting it!
Thanks for your opinions,
Riva
