And now I can add the Nesco Oven Roaster to the three methods above! For years I used
my crock pots all the time - at one time I had 3 CPs. Now that I'm cooking mainly for myself,
I find the pressure cooker more suited to the kind of cooking that I do. And where I used the
oven for roast chicken on high heat, I find the Nesco does a great job roasting chicken for 5 hours
at 250 degrees - and I don't have to "baby-sit" the bird while it's cooking.
My oven is on mostly for baking these days - and mostly that is bread baking and a pound cake now
and then. But I won't get rid of my crock pot and will be pulling it out as soon as soup weather gets
here. I also cook food for my little dog in the pressure cooker about every two weeks. He loves it
and I love that it is quick, healthy, economical, and I know what is in his food - just ground turkey,
brown rice or barley, carrots or sweet potato, and green beans.
