I've never frozen this cake but I am sure it's possible. I'd wrap the
individual pieces in plastic wrap, or place in sandwich bags; then freeze.

1/2 cup butter -- softened
1 1/2 cups sugar -- divided
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-inch baking pan with nonstick
cooking spray. Cream the butter and 1 cup sugar until light. Add the eggs,
one-at-a-time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla and stir
into the batter. Whisk together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Add to the butter mixture along with the sour cream.
Spread half the batter in the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the batter with
the chocolate chips. Mix together the cinnamon and remaining sugar. Sprinkle
over the chocolate chips. Spread remaining batter over chocolate chip
mixture. Bake the cake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in
center comes out clean. Serves 8.
