Each has it's own use and it is really personal preference. I have both and I prefer the digital - just program and walk away. With a stovetop you have to watch to make sure the temp stays consistent so the pressure doesn't release. My fiance got my new digital at Costco. I wish it was a bit bigger, so I might end up buying a larger one in the future. You can never have to many crockpots or pressure cookers in my opinion.

Subject: [frozen-assets] Pressure Cookers - Electric Or Not?
To: frozen-assets@yahoogroups.com

Ever since reading the message that talked about cooking dried beans in the pressure cooker, my desire to get a pressure cooker has increased. I have been looking at the different pressure cookers and am unsure if I should buy an electric pressure cooker or a stovetop pressure cooker.
Once of my favorite things about freezer cooking is cooking up large batches of meat and getting them into vaccuum bags in the freezer. The last time I cooked chicken, it took up so much space for a large portion of the day. Even though it was worth it because I had shredded chicken that I used in different recipes that lasted for about 6 months. I have been thinking that a pressure cooker would be so nice because I could still cook large batches of meat. I have also been trying to learn how to cook beans so I am hoping that a pressure cooker will be the answer to finally being successful at it.
So I appeal to all of you - which would be better? Should I get the electric pressure cooker or the stovetop pressure cooker?
I look forward to getting everyone's opinion!
